Why did you start with WingTsun?

I started with WingTsun, because my teacher at that time, according to the outward appearance untrained, eliminated me, the physically fit competitor, in a few seconds. And this happened to me in several attempts also against other WingTsun fighters. A completely new experience for me at that time! I knew immediately: You have to learn this!

Why are you still doing WingTsun?

I am still enthusiastic about WingTsun. If in my early days it was rather the uncompromising, direct approach that fascinated me, today it is the effortlessness with which I achieve my goal.

What was your standout WT experience?

A nice experience in my WT time was certainly my appointment as Sifu. I knew on this, for me normal course day, nothing about the appointment. My wife had arranged this surprise without my knowledge. I was totally perplexed when I was suddenly asked to the certificate reception forward.

What changed for you when you received the 1st HG or 5th MG?

My appointment as 1st HG was a small success for me personally, but I had bitten my way through to this first stage. The passed master examination is for me a beautiful, but also just another step to expand my WingTsun. Today I see my graduation, even more than before at the 1st HG, as an intermediate stage. A basic knowledge that needs to be expanded in the coming years.
