Motto:

“WingTsun forever”, that is my motto. For me WingTsun is simply the implementation of ingenious physics and logic adapted to humans.

Why did you start with WingTsun?

At that time, now more than 40 years ago, I was looking for a self-defense for myself. But I found only karate or judo. That’s what everyone was doing. However, I did not want to do what everyone was doing. Finally, at the beginning of 1977, I met M. Fries, who was teaching WingTsun. He told me that WingTsun was something new. Immediately I was all ears. What followed practically inspired me immediately. I did not know at the time, of course, that I had found the most ingenious martial arts system.

Why are you still doing WingTsun?

WingTsun has influenced my life extremely. If WingTsun had not existed at that time, I would still be earning my bread somewhere as a worker, would go to my club and would know apart from Germany maybe Malle.
But – thank God – this did not happen. Thanks to WingTsun I get around everywhere in the world, meet a lot of nice and interesting people, work in my own companies and even finished an academic education with a master’s degree.

What was your standout WT experience?

One of my most outstanding experiences was being named WT Master in 1997 in Hong Kong at GM Leung Ting’s big birthday party. But every day, every course and every lesson I give are new events in my WingTsun life.

What changed for you when you received the 1st HG or 5th MG?

My first goal at that time was the 1st Technician degree. Today it is the 1st higher degree. I was mighty proud when I achieved it. After more years of hard work (Kung Fu), I was promoted to 5th MG in 1997. But I can’t really say which graduation level made me prouder. Both were two important stages.
