Motto:

The longest path is the one to yourself – the principles of WingTsun can show you the way.

Why did you start with WingTsun?

It was one of the few martial arts that in my eyes even then (1990) offered more than pure fighting, but saw the fight as a means to an end. To get to know oneself and one’s body.
For me it was clear at that time that WT offered more than I could recognize with my eyes at the beginning. However, I did not suspect the extent that I recognize today.
In addition, it was conveniently located because it was within biking distance. The training dates also fit ideally with my schedule at the time.

Why are you still doing WingTsun?

Because I am still far from the goal — the iWT was a very big step. With this, WingTsun has recognized its Buddha nature from my point of view.

What was your standout WT experience?

To recognize who I am and what I am capable of. Watching and experiencing the awakening of GM Kernspecht and GM Schrön to iWT in recent years is the most outstanding thing for me.

What changed for you when you received the 1st HG or 5th MG?

When reaching the 1st HG, I was in a different school, with a different teacher, in a different world where there were still opponents, techniques, and punching power. All of that had to be mastered before you could leave it behind. The 5th MG was then for me the awakening to myself, so to speak.
