Why did you start WingTsun?
I began my WingTsun journey at the age of 12 in the city of Bukan, Iran, under the guidance of Sifu Ahmad Abdollahnezhad, who was my first WingTsun teacher.
At the age of 18, I moved to Tehran to continue my WingTsun training under Sifu Shirouyeh Hassanzadeh. Under his guidance, my understanding of WingTsun deepened significantly, and he played a major role in both my technical and personal development.
As a child, I was generally afraid of martial arts. However, when I first encountered WingTsun, I immediately fell in love with it. Its subtle, intelligent, and precise movements gave me a sense of safety unlike anything I had experienced before. I realized that WingTsun was completely different from other martial arts, and from that day on, I knew it would become my lifelong path.
Why are you still doing WingTsun?
WingTsun has become my way of life.
It has shaped not only my body but also my character and my inner world. I cannot imagine my life without it.
Beyond self-defense, WingTsun has taught me discipline, awareness, humility, patience, and harmony with myself and with others.
Every day, it challenges me to become a better martial artist, a better teacher, and, above all, a better human being.
For me, WingTsun is not only about techniques—it is a lifelong journey of learning, self-improvement, and serving others.
What was your most outstanding WingTsun experience?
My WingTsun journey has been filled with unforgettable moments.
One of the greatest moments was finally meeting Professor Keith R. Kernspecht after dreaming of that day for more than twenty years.
Another unforgettable moment was meeting Sifu Giuseppe Schembri, one of my childhood heroes. As a young boy, I watched his videos countless times and even printed his photographs. Seeing him in person after so many years filled me with overwhelming emotion—I was literally trembling with joy.
Some of my deepest experiences, however, have happened during training itself. There were moments of complete inner stillness, when I felt fully connected with my mind, body, and spirit. In those moments, WingTsun became a mirror through which I could better understand myself.
These experiences taught me that WingTsun is far more than a martial art—it is a lifelong path of self-discovery, balance, humility, and personal growth.
What changed for you when you received the 1st HG and later the 5th MG?
Receiving my 1st HG opened the door to a completely new understanding of WingTsun. Fear gradually gave way to curiosity, confidence, and awareness. It marked the beginning of a much deeper connection between my mind, body, and spirit.
Receiving my 5th MG was not simply a promotion in rank. It represented years of dedication, perseverance, responsibility, and continuous learning.
It reminded me that true progress is measured not only by technical skill but also by humility, respect, lifelong learning, and the ability to help others grow.
Today, I see WingTsun not only as a martial art but as a lifelong companion—a living path that continues to shape who I am every single day. It inspires me to keep learning, to keep teaching, and to pass this beautiful art on to future generations with the same passion, dedication, and respect that I received from my teachers.
