WingTsun or Escrima means to me, many things brought under one hat: It is healthy, keeps fit, is fun, reinvents itself again and again and you can also defend yourself excellently with it.

Why did you start with WingTsun?

I started doing judo when I was a kid because I enjoyed clowning around. Over time, however, I was no longer satisfied with it because I realized that I wouldn’t really be able to defend myself with it.
I switched to all-style karate, until by chance I came across WingTsun. I liked it very much right away and it convinced me. Since then, I no longer feel the need to try something else.

Why are you still doing WingTsun?

I still enjoy it after 26 years. Above all, there is no standstill; because there are always new insights and further development.

What was your standout WT experience?

I didn’t really have a particular outstanding experience. For me, there are always outstanding events and experiences.

What changed for you when you received the 1st HG or 5th MG?

The 1st MG was for me like finishing an apprenticeship and now really starting to learn.
 The 5th MG was then the confirmation for continuous learning and staying with it. At the same time, it was also an obligation not to rest on my laurels, but to constantly improve.
