Why did you start with WingTsun?

I had a soft spot for “fighting” and everything that goes with it from an early age. My generation grew up on the “street” and you had to learn to assert yourself there. Later I trained judo very intensively for six years. In the early 80’s a friend told me about WT and showed me its effectiveness through a simple DanChi example. Inspired by this encounter, I started WingTsun and passed the 1st HG in 1989 in a gym near Langenzell Castle.

What changed for you when you received the 1st HG or 5th MG?

Of course I was happy about this and also about all the other exams I passed. But only when I had completely learned the system with long pole and double knife, a deep inner satisfaction arose in me. I have found my own way and will always remain a student.
